Harry Porter is a superhero. He is small, but very brave. He is also kind. He lives in a Secret Base under a quiet hill. The base has one big red door and many soft lights.
One morning, Harry hears a tiny beep-beep. The lights in the base blink. Blink. Blink.
“Oh no,” says Harry. “My glow badge is gone.”
His glow badge helps the base feel safe and bright.
Harry looks under a chair. No badge.
He looks in a box. No badge.
He looks in his cape pocket. Still no.
He takes a slow breath. “I can do it,” he whispers.
A friend appears. It is an Alchemist. The Alchemist wears a little apron and carries a small bottle that smells like lemons.
“I can help,” says the Alchemist. “I mix clever things.”
Together, they tip-toe in the Secret Base. The floor is smooth. The walls hum softly.
They find a trail of sparkles. Tiny, tiny sparkles.
“Follow!” says Harry.
They follow the sparkles past the snack table.
Past the training mat.
Past the big map on the wall.
Then they hear a voice. “Hmm hmm,” says Professor.
Professor is the base teacher. He has round glasses and a long coat. He looks very serious.
Harry stands tall. “Professor, did you take my glow badge?”
Professor shakes his head. “No, no. But I saw something shiny roll away. I tried to catch it. It went zoom!”
“Zoom?” asks Harry.
Professor points to a small vent door. “It went in there.”
The vent is dark. Harry feels a little wobble in his tummy.
The Alchemist pats Harry’s hand. “Brave superhero,” the Alchemist says. “We go slow. We stay close.”
Harry nods. “Slow. Close.”
The Alchemist pours one drop from the lemon bottle. Ploop. The drop becomes a tiny glowing bubble.
“Light!” says the Alchemist.
The bubble floats in front of them, like a little moon. They crawl into the vent.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
They see dust bunnies. Big and fluffy.
“Hello,” says Harry.
The dust bunnies wiggle. One sneezes. “Achoo!”
The bubble light bounces. Boing.
Then—clink!
Harry sees it. The glow badge is stuck behind a screw.
“I found it!” Harry says.
But it is tight. It will not move.
The Alchemist smiles. “I have a mix.”
He rubs a soft paste on the screw. “Gentle slippery,” he says.
Twist… and the screw loosens.
Harry grabs the glow badge. “Yes!”
The badge lights up: warm yellow, like a cozy lamp.
Back in the Secret Base, the lights stop blinking. Everything is bright again.
Professor claps. “Good work. You asked, you looked, you did not give up.”
Harry feels proud. “Thank you,” he says.
The Alchemist opens a small box. Inside is a new treasure: a star sticker for Harry’s cape.
“For brave searching,” says the Alchemist.
Harry puts the star sticker on his cape. It shines.
He waves to Professor. He hugs the Alchemist.
“Secret Base safe,” Harry says.
And the base hums, happy and bright, all day and night.
