Winnie’s Lost Bell in the Magical Menagerie

Winnie was a tiny Fairy. She was gentle and brave. She lived in the Magical Menagerie, where little creatures chirped and purred.

One morning, Winnie blinked. “Oh no,” she said. “My shiny bell is gone.” The bell was small and gold. It went ding-ding when she flew.

Moon Child floated in, soft as a night cloud. Moon Child was calm and curious. “We can find it,” Moon Child said. “Let’s look together.”

Winnie nodded. “Together!”

They walked past a pen of hopping bunnies. “Hello, bunnies,” Winnie said.

“Hop-hop,” said the bunnies.

They peeked under a mushroom seat. No bell.

They checked a bowl of bright berries. No bell.

Winnie’s wings drooped. “I feel sad,” she whispered.

Moon Child held Winnie’s hand. “It’s okay to feel sad. We will keep looking.”

A cold cackle swished by. Witch stood near a tall cage of fluttering butterflies. Witch had a pointy hat and sharp eyes.

“I saw something shiny,” Witch said. “Maybe it rolled into the Tickly Tunnel.”

Winnie felt a tiny wobble in her tummy. The Tickly Tunnel was dark and wiggly.

Moon Child leaned close. “We can be brave in small steps. One step, then another.”

Winnie took a breath. “Okay. Small steps.”

They went to the Tickly Tunnel. The tunnel made silly echo sounds.

“Boo-boo,” said the tunnel.

Winnie giggled, even though she was still nervous.

Inside, they saw sparkle dust on the ground.

“Look!” Moon Child whispered. “A trail.”

They followed the sparkles. Drip-drop water made tiny plinks.

Winnie called softly, “Bell? Ding-ding bell?”

Something clinked.

Behind a sleepy snail shell, the bell lay on a pile of soft leaves.

Winnie smiled big. “My bell!”

She picked it up. Ding-ding!

Witch appeared at the tunnel mouth. Witch frowned. “Hmph. You found it.”

Moon Child looked at Witch, not scared, just steady. “Did you hide it?”

Witch’s cheeks went pink. “I… wanted the ding sound. My cave is too quiet.”

Winnie thought for a moment. She felt mad, then she felt kind.

Winnie said, “You can hear it. But you must ask.”

Witch blinked. “Ask?”

“Like this,” Moon Child said. “Please.”

Witch tried. “Please… may I hear the bell?”

Winnie nodded. She rang it once. Ding-ding!

The sound danced through the tunnel. Even the snail wiggled a happy wiggle.

Witch sighed. “That is nice.”

Winnie reached into her pocket. She pulled out a little pouch of star-sugar treats from the Menagerie kitchen.

“Here,” Winnie said. “A treat for you. And for us.”

Moon Child clapped softly. “Sharing makes more light.”

They all walked back out. The butterflies flapped like clappy hands.

Winnie looped the bell on a ribbon. “Now it stays with me,” she said.

Moon Child smiled. “You were brave. Small steps.”

Winnie flew in a happy circle. Ding-ding, ding-ding!

At the Magical Menagerie gate, a keeper gave Winnie a bright new sticker crown that sparkled.

Winnie wore it proudly. She had her bell, a sweet treat, and a shiny crown sticker too. And she had a friend beside her.
