Sir Luka is a young dinosaur who lives in a bright and cheerful zoo. Every morning he steps out of his cozy den to greet his friends. The zoo is full of lush green gardens, soft sandy paths, bubbling fountains, and big shady trees. He loves the pandas rolling on wooden logs and the monkeys swinging from branches. He waves at the playful zebras who dance in their stripes. He nods hello to his dinosaur neighbors: a striped stegosaurus named Star and a gentle triceratops called Cliff. They all cheer, 'Good morning, Sir Luka!' Each day he stops by the butterfly garden. Tiny butterflies with bright blue and orange wings flutter around him. Sir Luka stretches his long neck to feel them land on his nose. He giggles softly as their wings tickle. Sir Luka's very best friend is Twinkle, an imaginary unicorn who lives in the rainbow meadow. Twinkle has a shiny horn that glimmers in all the colors of the sky at sunset. Twinkle is playful and gentle. She dances on clouds of flower petals and makes soft tinkling sounds when she laughs. She loves to chase butterflies and to paint rainbows in the air. Twinkle and Sir Luka often sit by the gentle turtle named Tilly. Tilly is an old turtle with a wise smile. She tells stories of rainy days, warm rains, and hidden treasures under the zoo paths. Sir Luka listens wide-eyed while Twinkle edges closer to hear every word. One sunny morning Sir Luka arrives at the meadow and he freezes in surprise. The rainbow fence is open and there is no sign of Twinkle. Sir Luka's heart hops and thumps in his chest. He calls out softly, 'Twinkle where are you?' The leaves shiver and a warm breeze whispers back but there is only silence. Sir Luka takes a deep breath. He knows he must be brave. He steps beyond the fence into the tall grass. He carries his little satchel of snacks and a glowstick lamp that he can turn on in the dark. He whispers to himself, 'I will find Twinkle and bring her home.' He walks down a winding path past the sparkling pond where the turtles nap and past the row of rainbow tulips that gently sway in the breeze. Suddenly the path splits. One way leads to a muddy swamp with tall reeds. The other way leads to a thicket of thorny vines. Sir Luka pauses and touches his glowing lamp. 'Which path should I take?' Just then he hears a soft distant cry. It sounds like Twinkle's tiny voice. He follows the cry. The muddy swamp is too deep so he steps carefully on stones and logs until he reaches the edge. He sees scratch marks on a log where two small claws have scuffed the wood. He tiptoes forward and finds the ring of thorny vines. The vines hang like green ropes. He hums a happy tune as he steps carefully between each thorn. He uses his short arms to pick away the thorns breathing slowly so he does not get scratched. Beyond the vines he finds a narrow wooden bridge that arches over a tiny chasm. He holds his breath and crosses it step by step until he reaches the other side. There is a dark cave ahead with a faint rainbow glow inside. Sir Luka switches on his lamp. Inside the cave he sees a baby dragon with emerald scales. The dragon's eyes are big and shiny but they look sad. Near the dragon stands Twinkle, her horn glowing softly in the dim light. Sir Luka steps forward slowly and calls out 'Hello dragon why are you here?' The dragon flinches and hides behind a rock. He holds Twinkle's hoof gently. Twinkle steps back but she does not run. Sir Luka kneels so he is the same height as the dragon. He sets his glowstick on a stone so it lights the cave in soft blue. The dragon's voice trembles as he says 'I found Twinkle's rainbow horn. I wanted a friend. I am lonely and I thought the horn would keep me company. But now I feel sad and I lost my way.' Sir Luka smiles gently. He offers a leafy snack from his satchel and says 'You can be our friend too. You do not need to take Twinkle's horn. We can share fun and play together.' Twinkle steps closer and gently nudges the dragon. Her horn glows brighter. The little dragon looks at Twinkle blinks and smiles. He hands back the horn carefully. 'I am sorry' he murmurs. Twinkle nods and brushes his cheek with her muzzle. Sir Luka pats the dragon's head and says 'Thank you friend let us go back to the zoo together. There is a big party waiting for us.' They all walk out of the cave. The vines seem to part for them. The swamp stones glow with fairy lights. Sir Luka Twinkle and the baby dragon step into the rainbow meadow as the sun twinkles through the trees. The zoo keeper hears their footsteps and comes running. The keeper claps his hands joyfully. 'Sir Luka Twinkle you found her and made a new friend!' He pulls a small box from his pocket and opens it. Inside glints a shiny gold star medal. He pins the medal on Sir Luka's chest. The medal sparkles in the sunlight. The keeper then leads everyone to the great lawn. The animals gather in a circle. The monkeys clap their hands the zebras stamp their feet and the pandas wave tiny flags. There is a colorful picnic with sweet berry juice cups and crunchy veggie sticks. Sir Luka Twinkle and the dragon sit on soft blankets. They eat tasty snacks and laugh together. The butterflies dance above them and the birds sing a happy song. As the day ends Sir Luka waves to the sky. A soft rainbow arches high above the zoo. Sir Luka feels warm and proud. He found his friend rescued her with courage and made a new friend in the dragon. He learned that kindness and sharing can turn tears into laughter. From that day on Sir Luka Twinkle and the baby dragon play in the zoo every morning. They chase through the rainbow meadow splash in the pond and rest under the big shady tree. And every night the gold star medal sits by Sir Luka's bed to remind him of the wonderful adventure he had and the friends he made.
