Rayne is a little girl in the Enchanted Forest. She is small, but brave. She is also gentle. She likes to help.
Rayne hugs her Teddy Bear. Teddy is soft. Teddy is loyal. Teddy always listens.
Today the forest looks different. The flowers are still. The sky is pale.
Rayne points. “Teddy, where is the rainbow?”
Teddy whispers, “Something is nibbling it.”
They hear a slurp. Slurp, slurp.
Behind a fern sits a Spellcaster. The Spellcaster wears a long coat. The Spellcaster has a shiny spoon.
The Spellcaster is eating the rainbow like soup.
Rayne’s eyes go big. “Please stop. The forest needs colors.”
The Spellcaster frowns. “Colors make me sneeze. I like gray.”
Teddy squeezes Rayne’s hand. “We can fix this. We can share.”
Rayne takes a slow breath. She feels a warm spark in her chest. She has a tiny bit of magic. She is shy about it, but she is trying.
Rayne and Teddy walk to a clear path. The trees lean in. The leaves whisper.
They find five color drops on the ground, like little beads: red, blue, yellow, green, and purple.
Rayne picks them up. “These are lost colors!”
Teddy nods. “We will restore colors.”
They go to a pond. The pond is like a mirror.
Rayne drops in the blue bead. The pond turns bright blue.
“Hello, blue!” Rayne giggles.
They go to a sunny stump.
Rayne taps the yellow bead on it. The stump glows like a tiny lamp.
Teddy says, “Yellow is happy.”
They go to a patch of roses.
Rayne rolls the red bead between her fingers and whispers, “Wake up.”
The roses blush red again.
Now the forest starts to hum.
But the rainbow is still thin. Slurp, slurp, slurp.
They hurry back. The Spellcaster is still there, spoon in hand.
Rayne stands tall. “Spellcaster, you can have a little color. Not all.”
The Spellcaster looks surprised. “A little?”
Teddy speaks in a calm voice. “Try one sip, then stop. We will make you a color scarf. Soft and safe. No sneezes.”
The Spellcaster blinks. “A scarf?”
Rayne holds out the green and purple beads. “These can be for your scarf. Not for eating.”
The Spellcaster hesitates. Then the spoon lowers.
“I am… curious,” says the Spellcaster.
Rayne smiles. “We can do a kind spell.”
Rayne places the beads on Teddy’s belly. Teddy is round like a pillow.
Rayne pats Teddy gently. “Stitch and swirl, soft and twirl.”
The beads melt into threads. Green and purple threads spin and wrap.
A new scarf appears, silky and warm.
Teddy gasps. “Oh! I look fancy.”
Rayne hands the scarf to the Spellcaster.
The Spellcaster puts it on. The Spellcaster does not sneeze.
The Spellcaster’s face softens. “It is… nice.”
Rayne points to the sky. “Now we put the rest back.”
Rayne lifts her hands. Teddy lifts his paws.
Together they say, “Rainbow, come home.”
The colors fly up like butterflies. Red, blue, yellow, green, purple.
A full rainbow stretches across the Enchanted Forest.
The Spellcaster smiles a small smile. “I will not eat it again. I will watch it instead.”
Rayne claps. Teddy claps too.
The forest gives a reward.
A little chest pops out from under a mushroom. Click!
Inside are shiny stickers shaped like stars and rainbows, and a tiny paintbrush that never runs out.
Rayne laughs. “A forever brush!”
Teddy nuzzles her cheek. “We did it.”
Rayne waves at the Spellcaster. The Spellcaster waves back, scarf fluttering.
Rayne and Teddy walk home under the bright rainbow, with treasure in their pocket and colors in the sky.
