Bibianna and the Lost Shell Necklace

Bibianna was a mermaid. She lived by a warm Island. She was small, kind, and brave. She liked to sing “la-la-la” to the waves.

One morning, Bibianna blinked. “Oh!” Her shiny shell necklace was gone. It was her favorite. It went clink-clink when she swam.

Bibianna felt a little sad. “I miss it,” she said softly.

A Water Nymph popped up from a splash. Her name was Nini. Nini was quick and giggly. “We can find it!” Nini said. “We look. We ask. We help.”

On the sandy shore, a Sailor sat near a boat. He was tall and gentle. He held a cup and sniffed. “Ahh, salty air,” he said. He waved. “Hello, little mermaid.”

Bibianna swam close. “Did you see my shell necklace?”

The Sailor pointed. “I saw something shiny near the rocks. But I also saw a Pirate boat. Be careful.”

Bibianna’s eyes went wide. “Pirate?”

Nini hugged Bibianna’s arm. “We go together,” Nini said.

They swam around the Island. They peeked under seaweed. They looked in a coral nook. “Not here,” said Bibianna.

Then they heard: stomp, stomp, splash.

A Pirate stood on a low rock with a wet hat. He had a loud laugh. “Har-har! I found a pretty shell!”

Bibianna’s heart thumped. She wanted to hide. But she took a slow breath. “That is mine,” she said.

The Pirate grinned. “Mine now!” He tucked it in his pocket.

Just then, a Princess walked on the beach. She wore a simple crown. She was calm and fair. She called, “Pirate! Stop.”

The Pirate puffed up. “No!”

The Princess whispered to the Sailor. The Sailor nodded.

Nini had a plan. She twirled her fingers. The water made tiny bubbles. Pop-pop-pop! The bubbles floated up and tickled the Pirate’s nose.

“Achoo!” the Pirate sneezed.

Bibianna sang in her sweetest voice, “La-la-la, gentle sea.” The waves rose just a little. Not scary. Just a soft push.

Whoosh! The Pirate wobbled. Plop! He sat down in a puddle.

The Sailor stepped closer. “No taking,” he said firmly.

The Princess held out her hand. “Give it back. Please.”

The Pirate looked at all of them. He grumbled. Then he pulled out the necklace. “Fine.”

Bibianna swam up and took it. Clink-clink! It felt warm in her hands.

“Thank you,” Bibianna said. She smiled at Nini, the Sailor, and the Princess.

The Pirate climbed into his boat. “I will go,” he muttered, and sailed away.

The Princess brought a small treasure box from the sand. “For your brave heart,” she said.

Inside was a new charm: a tiny star shell, bright and smooth.

Bibianna’s eyes sparkled. “A star for me!”

Nini giggled. “Now you have two pretty things!”

Bibianna put the star charm on her necklace. Clink-clink, twinkle-twinkle.

That night, by the Island, they all listened to Bibianna sing. The sea was quiet. The friends were close. And Bibianna felt safe, happy, and proud.
